Awesome fast car review: 2015 VW Golf Sportwagen TDI First Drive Review: Goodbye Jetta Wagon & Hello Golf

( ) The 2015 VW Golf Sportwagen TDI is all new with a new/old name. In America this car used to be the Jetta wagon but now just like in Europe this Mk7 Golf is now the VW Golf Sportwagen. Recently, Roman had the chance to drive and review this diesel powered VW and he filed this TFLcar first drive review.

  1. Ha. This came across my recommended videos. Even 3 years after buying my TDI Sportwagen I’m still smitten by it.

    Fun to watch this one.

  2. It is a damn shame this vehicle/engine combo got into the scandal and is out of production. I was very interested in this car with the diesel and manual transmission.

  3. I noticed he was talking about diesel in States being more expensive than regular gasoline. Is that true? What is that blue cap, you have to fill something in? With all that anti-polution gizmos that car allready have to meet EU standards (probably much higher than U.S) etc? That's funny..  On the other hand, it could be bio-diesel additive, which is mandotory in EU (something like 4, 5%, its allready mixed, so you don't have to add nothing more).edit: i found answer here

  4. Will TFL's test drives of the 2016 models be posted soon? VW says the cars are being shipped throughout August. Would love to see impressions of the safety equipment additions, Apple Carplay/Android Auto, etc.

  5. This might be one of the best jobs I've seen Roman do! As for the car I like the blue one. I don't remember seeing any wagons for a while. When I was a kid we referred to them as station wagons. Only back then they were really big.

  6. I hate wagan s but I do like suvs and sports cars I especially like the sports suvs like the jeep grand Cherokee srt 8,and the germans version of them like the x5m and x6m,Porsche cayenne trobo and lots more of these sports suvs

  7. I think the sales of the gas-powered version may go up since the new 1.8 TSI gets substantially better gas mileage (at least on paper, any real-world numbers yet?) than the old 2.5 did.

  8. I may be ordering mine soon, if VW ever get these to market. Release date was March and it's almost April. I'm sure there's a bunch of heart attacks taking place in WOB right now!

  9. Just a couple more options to be purrfect…
    1. convertible roof rails(roof rails<~>racks)
    2. back hatch pin lock
    3. almost forgot AWD
    4. 1000 miles range/tank (imagine less than 3 fillups to go from SF – NY or less than 2 fillups to go from Vancouver to Tijuana)
    5. subaru outback tdi

  10. I've been seeing more of these Jetta Wagons and Golf Wagons around here in Alabama. If my mom was thinking about downsizing even further, I would have seriously pushed one of these. When I have kids, I'm probably going to just get one of these for the family since I really don't need all the space of a huge crossover, and I like torque over horsepower.

  11. I would totally own this when my family grows in future. This just proves that you don't have to sacrifice the driver for space, back passenger comfort and utility.
