  1. I just bought a 2018 Dodge Challenger 392 Hemi Scat Pack Shaker…. The dealership has just acknowledged that my car is down on power about 10% but feels that it is within acceptable limits and is refusing to fix the problem. I called SRT customer service and FCA customer service about the issue and was told that I need to pay for another rental while we see if another dealership thinks that a 10% power loss is acceptable for a warranty repair. I only have 3000 miles on my car and it is slower than the 5.7L Hemi. I kinda feel like once they get your money for the car, they really don't care about their customers. Towbin dodge in Henderson Nevada definitely seems like they aren't interested in fixing this issue. Who the hell is happy with purchasing an SRT engine to get R/T power? what a horrible company. I really thought Dodge would stand by their product.

  2. A great engine until you have a problem with the lifters and require a rebuild, we have now had two engine replacements in 4 years with less than 130 000km on the clock. Don’t think that Chrysler Australia will help either…I’ll never buy a Chrysler again

  3. Nonsense….The 6.1 is the base for the crate motors…up to 440 ci. Nice try but the 370 motor is a better motor…….Composite vs aluminum intake? Plastic or metal? Gee let me think about that…What would anybody need a cylinder deactivativating variable cam timing high-performance motor for?

  5. Why do Americans need vehicles with 485 horse power?  My dodge ram truck has the 318 CI V8 anyone that has a vehicle with more power than that is a danger to themselves and others.  The American civilian is not a competition race car driver

  7. have a 2006 ram 1500 with a 5.7 hemi, new mopar heads, cam, better cooling, better lubrication system, full catless exhaust, twin cold air intake and built tranny makes 535 crank hp and 590lbs toque

  8. hay Dan iam glad you pointed out that this is NOT a true Hemi. but the talk about domed pistons must be talking about the gen 2 RACE Hemi. as the gen1 51-58 had no dome at all.

  9. The original 426 Hemi from the 60s and 70s was rated at 425 HP, but when you look on YT of people running Dynos on stock setups they are pulling almost 500hp!

  10. This engine works, indeed! Just reviewed the Challenger T/A 392 and I'm still coming down from the adrenalin. I had my foot in it a good share of the time and still managed over 23 mpg average through two tanks of fuel. Keep up the great work all you Dodge engineers. Keep the muscle alive.

  11. Who buys an SRT who gives a Shit about a 4 cylinder disconnect system ? Huge Mistake. When you put the car in Sport Mode you would a least expect it to cancel out. And whats with the Huge Trunk, Who wouldn't give back 12inches of THAT mistake to put bigger rubber on the back for badly needed grip. You SRT guys should be back in the mail room

  12. I have owned 2, 392 cars, a 2011 Challenger and now a 2013 Challenger. I love both of them, they have a lot of power and torque but the problem with all of the Dodges is weight. Chevy and Ford use aluminum blocks, why doesn't Mopar? The aftermarket 6.1 aluminum block is 100lbs lighter then the cast iron production 6.4 block. Chevy has been using aluminum control arms and steering knuckles on the front suspension since the '80's on the Corvette and today everything has it, except a Challenger/Charger. My wife's 2004 Grand Prix has an aluminum engine cradle and for crying out loud. And who's brilliant idea was the two piece steel drive shaft with a carrier bearing? Aluminum drive shafts have been standard in most rear wheel drive vehicles since the mid to late '90's. Get with the program Mopar, these changes alone would have reduced the weight of the Challenger/Charger by 300-400lbs and then they would be just over Mustang weight instead of being bloated. I don't get it?

  13. You idiots that complain that this isnt a TRUE hemi engine because the chambers arent truely hemispherical. Sorry to break it to ya but this chamber design is Superior to the original hemi design in every aspect. Also high domes on the pistons on the original Hemi was a BANDAID to be able to get any compression out of the chamber design, that led to some hugely heavy pistons. A flat top piston has Superior burn characteristics compared to any huge domey bandaid pistons.

  14. Where's the Hemispherical head or the domed pistons .. Dodge is obviously using the Hemi name in tradition only.. Add the SRT emblem and the crony's run to there nearest Dodge dealer to buy one..

  15. I would like to know how any of you determined if it is a hemi or not from this video? They never showed a shot of the combustion chamber side of the cylinder heads. That is the part that makes it a hemi, not the pistons or the cylinder bore.

  16. I'm shocked to see so many negative comments regarding this engine. Who cares if the pistons are flat top, or if it's a push rod engine. The fact is, it WORKS! This is a pretty bad ass motor, and the current 2015 version is pushing 485 HP and 475 FT LBS of torque.
    There isn't anything naturally aspirated, or in this price range that comes close to matching this motor.

  17. I found out why there not real hemi. Because the piston would be to heavy and the gas mileage would be horrible. So what they did is branded the name making u think it's a real hemi and in fact it's not. Sad really.

  18. Dude, i was just going to say that. Flat top pistons? Wtf dodge… it's a hemi right? Well where's the hemi pistons in your hemi motor. Hell even fords 5.0 motor has higher pistons then that.lol so even if u buy a hemi, it's not a hemi. That's false advertising. .that's a law suit….. Big problem right here…anyone that bought a hemi should be suing that shit out if dodge. Probably a fiat piston. Lol its a hemi. .lmfao. law suit, law suit, law suit.

  19. The old push rod design is great for torque. I own a 300 CORE with this engine, its awesome. Nice and smooth to cruise in and, an absolute monster when you plant it. Great mileage on long trips, just a really nice car to own, sure you can buy a better car but, for the asking price of these, you get bang got your buck.

  20. I love how they won't show the combustion chambers, which would show that this isn't even a true Hemi, lol. And they have the balls to write HEMI in all caps!

  21. My goodness, the complexity of that motor can just make me want to jump off a cliff! Why don't they make today's engines simple enough so a home shadetree mechanic can work on?!!!
