  1. Looks and sounds like a winner, but two big issues could sink what could otherwise be a homerun..
By refusing to support Android auto, Toyota is willfully alienating their target demographic (millenials, genY, whatever) who have allegiance to either Apple or Android, and if their phone isn't supported it could make the difference in a sale or moving on to another compact hatch that has a choice of both. The second thing, (which may or may not be a deal breaker) is the apparent lack of sunroof in any trim level. In all of the pics I've seen, no sunroof and no mention of one being available. Since its predecessor (Scion/Toyota iM) never had a sunroof, I'm guessing this is the same way. It's not that big of a deal to me since I've had leaking and/or noise issues with sunroofs in the past, some people simply won't buy a car without one. Other than those two things, (and assuming Toyota doesn't make the mistake of down-tuning the 2.0 chasing EPA ratings vs competitors) looks like the greatest Corolla since the GTS models of the late 80's. Of course those were RWD, and Toyota does have the 86 platform…hmm. Nah, they don't have the balls for such greatness..

  2. The outside looks beautiful. Inside not so much. If I could take the outside of this car and put the inside of the 2016 Corolla…. that would be the best car for me. However not possible so I’ll just stick with my super white 2016 Corolla. Still a sick looking car from the outside tho

  3. To all the people bitching “why doesn’t it have a turbo”. Because that’s more parts that will need repairing. Toyota is about reliability. Not power.

  4. The one thing I would be concerned about would be the CVT transmission. Nissan ( I know, Nissan!) has already had a few
issues/disasters with this one and if I can't avoid the CVT as the only automatic transmission type then I may wait a couple of years to see the track record on this.

  5. I love the look and know the reputation of Toyota quality is amazing, but unless this car pushes the 180+hp mark it's not going to compete with the Honda Civic, Mazda 3, or Ford Focus. The idea that they're silent on the horse power leads me to believe it's nothing to brag about.

  6. All of these stupid comments about turbo's. A turbo is fun don't get me wrong but it only adds volumetric efficiency to an engine. For example if you took a 1.5T engine and forced the same amount of air into the combustion chambers as a 5.0L v8 you can burn the same amount of fuel as a 5.0 v8 making the same amount of power as one. Turbo does not increase fuel economy. When you are in boost you actually burn more fuel. The 1.5L turbo from Honda is gutless out of boost yet if you want the rated economy you have to shift early and keep it out of boost. The statement no replacement for displacement still holds true. Turbos simply increase the displacement of an engine. Im sure the dynamic force engine will have 200whp easy. High compression, gdi and a good flowing head can achieve 200hp from a 2L easily. If you put Honda Civic type r pistons in a base model integra motor b18b1 and put a b16b head on it it will make 200hp + from a NA 1.8L engine so turbocharging is not the be all end all for automotive. NA is fun if done right

  7. All you guys complaining about a lack of turbos..I can promise you that this car will sell in droves because of it. An NA car just seems more reliable to the masses.. And guess what its a Corolla. Who's the Corolla made for again?

  8. What the engine is related to Mazda G engine or what why do Toyota make the car's engine turbo?I hope Toyota will put Turbo engine to that when they do that they can defeat Volkswagen Golf GTI

  9. New hot hatch? Far from it, however this platform does have potential. It has a great chassis with decent looks. A TRD Sport model or GRMN with 250 hp or so would be nice.
