This BMW E39 M5 has had it’s original 5.0L V8 removed, and instead sits a Toyota Supra’s 2JZ Inline Six with a monstrous single turbocharger and a manual transmission. This setup is supposedly good for over 1,200 HP, though it is dialed back to 800 hp for road testing on pump gas. This car’s owner, Cleve, is one of my favorite guests ever on our show, and this build is insane.

  1. This is something I dont like at all.
Why would you pull out such a glorious v8 out of a legendary BMW… I dont care its a 2jz, it just isnt right.
You can 2jz swap anything you want but stay away from bimmers, benzes and audis, its fucking sacrilege…
    No no and no

  2. Toyota is coming out with the new Supra with a crappy unreliable BMW engine.
    .
This guy swaps a totally reliable 1400 potential Horsepower 2JZ in a BMW.
    .
HAHAHA. That's got to hurt the arrogant, my shit don't stink, BMW Fanboys.

  3. Richard Harold, you're such a boob. I mean I'm not a big fan of the widebody, and I probably wouldn't do that to an M5, but can't you just appreciate the work that has gone into this car? Sure the original V8 could've been modified to yield the same power output, but I would imagine that it would've cost WAY more money to do. I've owned a few BMWs. I've loved them all, but damn, the dollars spent per horsepower is absurd. Just have some respect for someone's baby, man. Would you take kindly to someone ripping on one of your cars because it wasn't done how they envisioned it? I wouldn't either. I would imagine that this dude put lots of passion into building that car. Also, injecting your absurdly unsubstantiated political beliefs into this is unnecessary, and makes you look like an idiot to any American watching this. That would be like me spreading false statements about your country when I haven't even lived in it. Ridiculous.

  4. Hey man, i dont know if you read this but a little tip: put a gopro near the exhaust of the car to have more sound when pulling. Love the show and you have defenitly the best job in the world. Greetings from Europe, The Netherlands

  5. Most people especially in Malaysia do the 2JZ or 1JZ swap. Its harder to find the v8 thanks to the high annual roadtax of the thing.2JZ is fast reliable but i wonder if it upsets the handling of the M5 though.
