Awesome Hot Wheels Review: The 180 MPH 1969 Dodge Daytona: “Project Angrier”

The Smoking Tire heads to East Hampton to terrorize yuppies in the baddest muscle car around: Mr. Angry’s 1969 Dodge Daytona. Blasphemous to some, envied by others, this is one tire-shredding muscle machine we’ll take in our garage any day.

  1. I was a driver/mechanic when this was being developed and they were a thrill. I drove alongside R. PETTY at Chelsea proving grounds and that was a memory. Is yours geared for drag cause we break 200 easy, well maybe race trim is the difference. Even though i spent time on the chassis and hard driving cycles,,I was actually a Engine development specialist. But running a early prototype i collapsed/bent the front suspension. Down force matters.

  2. what bullshit, they only ran 1 year, every body bitched and they pulled them./…….what crap the daytona ran the 2nd have of 69 and 70…….they only won 6 races……they were still not as fast as the talladega torino.

  3. The car was fast but it still didn't beat the Mercury's and the Fords. Chrysler's was desperate when the Boss 429 came out. Ford pulled out of racing or the king cobra would have cleaned up and all the Mopars. By the way those were some of the ugliest looking cars of the 60s and 70s.

  4. When I first saw the movie cars that was my first introduction to the Daytona. Ever since it’s been my dream to have an all black roaring lion like this monster. I’m happy and angry at the same time this man built his dream car and it just so happens mine too! So hellishly jealous of this mans car but can’t wait to build my own! For now god damn that’s a nice fucking car!!
