  1. Boot volume is 130 l and 127 l for the RF (interesting that it doesnt lose too much with that hard top) – was confused for a second =) Why I mentioned the number 455? That is the height of the trunk from bottom to top in mm (so that's 45 cm)

  2. This was the very first long driving review I've seen. Loved it! Been to Norway's road, cannot remember the name of it, as it's been so many years ago now, but looked the same, less traffic in Romania though. Here on the East Coast of the U.S.A., we have the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains with many back highways also. I thank you for this review. I am a 2017 MX-5 Club owner and love driving it everyday.

  3. Hi Thomas, I know Mazda is developing the skyactive – x petrol engine. Do you think is worth waiting for that to be brought to MX-5? I believe that this is a fantastic engine already. I love what they've done.

  4. Awesome roads, nothing like that around my parts. With my portable NAV, I like to zoom in with 2D view activated. That way, you can charge turns on the straights and capitalize on engine braking for turns. It's a nice way to carve-up the turns in a relaxed way, especially on the way down when engine braking is more important. Not as fast as working the brakes, but rewarded with a smooth ride, which doesn't take away from the view.

  5. I am the same height as Thomas and barely fit in the MX5. My head was 1cm from the roof and my head was touching the metal struts holding the roof. Wouldn't want to be hit by that in an accident. Also, I needed the move the seat the bit further back, but it was already at the max. I only wish the car was a little bigger, so it can fit comfortably someone between 185-190. I want to drive an MX5 but it is too small and dangerous for me.

  6. I am not sure if i should give you a "thumbs up" or a "thumbs down" on this video. The content is really good and you explain a lot of things really nice. Also the camera work is nice. But if you are interested in cars and do a lot of videos about them, do everyone a favor and learn to heel and toe downshift. Driving a pure manual "drivers car" and shifting this bad ruins all of the driving. Sadly very much people on Youtube drive sporty and expensive cars and dont know how to propely operate a manual transmission. These people are the reason why cars are better of with a dual clutch or automatic transmission. So please promote manual transmissions by showing how nice they can be to drive when they are used the right way. =)

  7. Great review Thomas, spot on! What a better place to shoot this than on Transfagarasan, hope you enjoyed it. We've actually met for a couple of minutes in Sibiu, you are taller than in the videos. I will definitely consider your future references to leg room 🙂

  8. You're the first one showing Apple Car Play & Android auto features the rest some are saying it is not available, others it will no be availible. Specially in Video reviews from US.

  9. I'd say the Roadster looks more elegant both roof up or down. But for us in the northern contries (Germany probably included) a non fabric roof car is much more practical in the winter if you use it all year around.

  10. great review, awesome road! no roads like this in Ohio. i bought a 2017 club RF a few months ago, love it. i've seen a dyno output comparing the ND1 and ND2 engines, and it looks like they have almost identical power and torque curves until you get to 6K, then the ND2 keeps climbing in power where the ND1 tails off, and of course, the ND2 goes to 7.5K instead of 6.8K. did you notice much difference in the two engines below 6K RPM? i haven't had a chance to drive a 2019 yet.

  11. Great work, Thomas! I would get the RF, in spite of the wind turbulence. I think it looks better. I like that you let us enjoy the drive/view toward the end of the video. Thank you.
