  2. superb.

do you know if mitsubishi supposed to do a facelift or new generation car instead the outlander? or gonna be the same outlander in 2018?

and could you do a review on outlander patrol engine 2017

    thanks a lot

  3. I like your reviews because they're more meaningful than drag-race-like comparisons.

At around time index 31:37 you're mentioning that the ICE is charging the battery when low and you find this complicated . Well, it would be but it is not what is happening. The ICE drives the generator and the so generated electricity powers the e-motors. Only surplus energy is stored in the battery. So it is not the ICE charging the battery which then powers the e-motors but it is more direct and makes perfectly sense in my opinion.
And in fact whenever the ICE is running(charge mode, save mode etc) – any power not needed for driving will be stored, there is no wasting energy. Also, typical hybrid ICEs run at certain revolutions where there are most efficient.
My 12 year old Prius, although equipped with a different drive train technology (planetary gear), does it the same way.

    Keep up the good work!

  4. I have a Ford Focus Electric, and the brakes perform in a similar manner (no regeneration during heavy braking). My theory is regen braking doesn't have the same directional stability as today's friction brakes, as I've noticed what I can only describe as torque steer in reverse when braking on uneven roads.

  5. Great Review – thanks for that. Looking to buy one actually and experienced more or less exact what you mention in the video. Nice car if it fits to your daily travelling, crappy infotainmend system, joy to drive.

  6. So…biggest decision yet..This Mitsubishi with the 2.2 Diesel and Automatic or the new Mazda CX-5 with the 2.2 Diesel and Automatic (The facelift which will come in few months)…help please 😀

  7. QUESTION: Hybrid works on self-charging. But does the PHEV system charges its own battery or does it only gets charged from an outside source?

  8. Great review, very detailed as usual! But does this car actually feel powerful ? Since on paper it has quiet some output but can this car deliver to the promised numbers ?

  9. A very good and detailed review, and not the typical YouTube product sales pitch.

I am thinking about a replacement for my 2013 Mercedes GL350. However, as you say hybrids are really just a transition between combustion & full electric vehicles, so maybe I'll wait awhile and see what innovations (if any) come on to the market.

  10. Great big review ! Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV 2016 is excellent PHEV SUV 4WD vehicle  ! Audio sound quality is real good with subwoofer ! Mitsubishi uses a very durable and hard plastics for inner details and dashboard (much more durable than many other car manufacturers) ! Quality materials and body parts and frame construction is strong material in its class.
S-AWC (SUPER ALL WHEEL CONTROL)This integrated control system, only available from Mitsubishi Motors, delivers incredible power and control. By optimally managing AYC (Active Yaw Control), ABS (Anti-lock braking system) and Active Stability Control (ASC) with Traction Control (TCL), it brings out the full potential of Twin Motor 4WD without compromising safety, comfort or fuel efficiency. When desired, you can press the 4WD LOCK button to simulate locking of a centre differential and optimally distribute torque to all four wheels for improved traction and stability.
.Twin Motor 4WDHigh-output motors separately mounted at the front and rear axles instantly supply torque on demand for incredibly responsive yet smooth 4WD performance.
